Tracy Hansen is the CMO of Tealium, the leading enterprise tag management provider which was recently named one of Forbes’ Most Promising Companies in America for 2014. Before joining the Tealium team, Tracy served as SVP of marketing at CA Technologies and prior to that, she served as Vice President of Marketing for NetApp. The Makegood recently spoke with Tracy about the growth of Tealium and being named one of Inc. 500’s fastest-growing private companies.
The Makegood: Congratulations on being named to Inc. 500’s list of fastest-growing private companies in America. How do you believe Tealium reached this point, and what will the company do to continue this growth?
Thank you, we’re grateful and excited to be included. I believe that what allowed us to reach this point was the combination of best-in-class, reliable products and a hard-working, talented team. To continue this rapid, yet smart, growth, we will keep innovating and expanding our product offerings to ensure that our industry-leading solutions are on pace with the constantly changing needs of today’s marketing professionals.
The Makegood: How does Tealium differ from others in the industry? In other words, how has Tealium achieved an 1808% growth in comparison to similar companies?
One of the most significant factors that sets Tealium apart is our commitment to our customers and their experiences with us. Our platform is quick to implement, adaptable and intuitive. Our focus on customer success is unparalleled. As a result of our powerful yet simple-to-use technology and our customer dedication, we’ve been able to work with large, national brands such as Ancestry.com, A+E Networks, Cathay Pacific Airways, Domino’s Pizza and many others that have contributed to our growth.
The Makegood: What will the company’s focus be moving forward? How will Tealium be innovative enough to parallel the past three years’ growth?
Going forward, we are focused on becoming the best digital marketing platform. Tealium started as the provider of a leading tag management solution, but has already grown into a unified marketing technology company by introducing ‘Build Your Own Marketing Cloud’ and Data Layer Wizard solutions. From here, we will continue this trend of building industry-leading, groundbreaking solutions that can eliminate data friction associated with siloed marketing tools.
The Makegood: Tealium has also earned several other awards, including Best Places to Work in San Diego and New Technology of the Year. How have these awards contributed to the company’s growth?
We appreciate each award that we’ve been given because every time we are recognized for our work, we become even more inspired and excited about Tealium’s future. Being named one of the best places to work in San Diego was especially rewarding because our team consists of dedicated and innovative people who make us what we are, and they deserve the recognition for their hard work.
The Makegood: What can the industry expect from Tealium in the future? Do you believe that there is room for even further growth at the company given the immense amount of growth that has already occurred?
There is absolutely the opportunity for continued growth, as many of the leading brands have yet to unlock their full marketing potential using solutions such as Tealium IQ or Tealium AudienceStream. This growth opportunity, as well as addressing new customer challenges, collaborating with new partners and introducing new, game-changing products into the marketplace, are the reasons we get up and come to work everyday. The industry can expect Tealium to keep evolving, growing and pushing the unified marketing space forward.
The Makegood: Thank you, Tracy.
